[ PHOTO ] Blinded Men Statues Ascending High into the Sky

Karma is an intriguing sculptural installation by Korean artist Do Ho Suh that presents countless men sitting atop one another while shielding each other's eyes. Like his Cause & Effect piece, which features a spectacular tornado of figurines, Karma presents figurative sculptures ascending into the sky like a human ladder. However, in addition to being perched on each other's shoulders, they are successively blinding one another which leads one to wonder: Why?  The artist has caught our attention over the years with misplaced houses, a robe made of dog tags, and symbolic floor installations; but it's his use of the human form that is most thought-provoking. His work continually questions one's identity and individuality by using the human body. These stainless steel men, though recognizably different entities, appear to move as one. While the piece is open for interpretation, it makes one question whether the idea behind it is to present the figure of a man blindly following in the path of his ancestors before him, who have risen a step closer to the heavens with each new successor in the lineage.

UK-based artist Susan Stockwell recently completed this gigantic world map made from recycled computer components for the University of Bedfordshire. Entitled World, the piece has been in progress since 2010 and uses motherboards, electrical wiring, fans, and myriad other components donated by Secure IT Recycling. Although Stockwell has worked with electronic components for additional projects, her work with paper is also extraordinary and has been making the rounds quite a bit.

[ FOTO ] The Most Dangerous Path in the World

Guide to El Camino Del Rey, El Chorro, Spain

The path was originally constructed in 1905 for workers of a hydro eletric damn set up in the cliffs of El Choro. Since then, the path has deteriorated and is now only for the adventurous. The government of Spain allocated 7 million euros for the restoration of El Camino Del Rey in 2006, however its clear that this has not been spent yet. To get there, catch the train to a town called Alora. Alora is about 12 or 13 km away from El Choro, which is your final destination. 

 There is a train station in El Choro, you can try catch a train directly there, but the trains do not run often. From Alora we took a taxi, I believe there is only 1 taxi, the drives name is Antonia, and if you ask at the local bar outside the Alora train station they’ll call for you. We paid 20€ for the ride, which was likely too much, but we had 5 people so we didn’t mind so much. Antonio will drop you in El Choro at a market which has a flyer for the local climbing shop which is just down the road. Arrange a rough time for Antonio to come pick you up, allow plenty of time to catch your train as he’ll probably have to drive from Alora to come get you. Head down the road, it’s pretty obvious which direction you need to go to find the trail, and you’ll find the climb shop to your right. 

 If you already have a harness, the straps, and carabiners, you can skip this part, or go in and ask any questions you may have. If you plan on renting your harness, be aware they only have 2 for rent, and they may already be rented. You may have to buy your harness as we did, it cost about 65 euros. The shop is run by a German guy who can answer questions, since we had a group of 5 he recomended we climb Alpine style, I’m not a climber so I’m not familiar with it, but I think this is where everyone is connected by a rope to prevent any 1 person from falling. DO GET A HARNESS as no matter how confident you are in your abilities, the path is old and falling apart, and you don’t want to be the sucker who makes the next section crumble.

 Even the cables you latch into are questionable, so don’t fall.

Now that you have your harness, continue walking up the path with the river on your left, its about 15-25 minutes to get to the trail head. You’ll start to see things you recognize, then you’ll catch your first glimpse of the bridge and El Camino Del Rey high up on the cliff.

The world's cheapest new car has been turned into one of the planet's most expensive after it was covered with £3 million worth of bling. The Tata Nano, which normally sells for under £2,000, has been coated in gold, silver and gems in recognition of India's booming economy and 5,000 year-old jewellery trade. Thirty artists were employed to decorate the tiny car in 80kg of 22 carat gold, 15kg of silver and 10,000 semi precious stones and gems.

Flashy motor: Today Tata unveiled its 'Nano' car crafted in gold, silver and gem stones in Mumbai, India, and below the amount of precious metals and stones used in the one-off design is shown clearly side on. Billionaire businessman Ratan Tata - who recently bought Jaguar Land Rover to add to his collection of car companies - ordered the one-off design to celebrate the strength of his country's growing wealth and mark its history. Paying homage to 5,000 years of jewellery tradition in India, Tata Motors said it had created the world's first 'jewellery car'. In August the Mumbai-based group shipped just 1,202 units, down 88 per cent from April's 10,012 units. Analysts blame the Nano's poor safety record as several incidents of the cars spontaneously bursting into flames were widely reported. Its existing Nano customers were offered a safety upgrade to its electrical and exhaust systems. But despite the problems the company announced on Monday it would invest £355 million in building a new engine plant at Jaguar Land Rover near Wolverhampton.
