"Ca in toate artele, placerea consumului creste odata ce incepi sa te pricepi la arta respectiva, insa daca merg deschisi la minte si simt doar ce simt, nu ceea ce cred ca ar trebui sa simta, oamenii vor sti de prima data daca le plac sau nu luptele cu tauri. S-ar putea sa nu le placa deloc, indiferent daca este o lupta buna sau nu, si atunci orice argument este irelevant, caci pentru ei ramane valabil doar acela ca luptele cu tauri sunt evident rele din punct de vedere moral. E la fel ca si cu oamenii care nu beau vin, desi poate ca le-ar placea, pentru ca nu e bine sa faci asta.


Comparatia asta cu bautul de vin nu este chiar atat de fortata pe cat pare. Această serie de filme documentare oferă o perspectivă unică a istoriei banilor și rolul acesteia în economia de azi.
Cu misiunea de a ajuta pe toată lumea să obțină adevărata bunăstare, Mike ne arată ceea ce putem face astăzi ca să fim gata să înfruntăm viitorul. Scopul declarat al realizatorilor acestor documentare este ca lumea să realizeze că “prosperitatea poate fi obținută doar în condiții de libertate individuală, printr-o piață liberă și având la bază un sistem financiar solid și bine reglementat.”

De unde vine denumirea de leu românesc?

În secolul al XVII-lea, în statele românești circulau talerii olandezi (löwenthaler). Aceştia aveau gravat pe ei un leu. După ieșirea din uz a talerilor, numele de leu a fost păstrat ca termen generic pentru bani, iar în 1867 leul devenea unitatea monetară a Principatelor Unite. Cea mai veche monedă atestată pe teritoriul românesc e drahma de argint de 8 grame, emisă de orașul grecesc Histria în anul 480 î.Hr.
Pe 22 aprilie 1867 s-a stabilit ca monedă națională leul, având etalonul la 5 grame de argint și având 100 de submultipli, numiţi bani. Primele monede emise erau din bronz, de 1 ban, 2, 5 și 10 bani, bătute în Birmingham, Anglia.
În 1868, a fost emisă prima monedă românească din aur, cu valoarea de 20 lei. Din 1870 s-au bătut și monede de argint cu valoarea de 50 de bani (aşa-zisele „băncuțe”), 1 leu și 2 lei.
Banca Națională a României a fost înfiinţată pe 1 aprilie 1880, aceasta fiind singura abilitată să emită monedă de metal și hârtie. În 1947 a fost emisă bancnota de 5.000.000 lei, aceasta având cea mai mare valoare nominală din istoria României.
În 1947 s-a făcut denominarea, la un raport de 1 leu nou la 20.000 lei vechi. Paritatea leu-dolar era de 150 de lei pentru 1 dolar. În 1966 s-au emis monede și bancnote cu noua denumire a ţării, Republica Socialistă România, care au rămas în circulație până după 1989. Pe 1 iulie 2005, reforma monetară din România a schimbat leul vechi (ROL) cu cel nou (RON), 1 RON fiind egal cu 10.000 ROL. Cum România a intrat în Uniunea Europeană la începutul anului 2007, ar urma să treacă la moneda unică europeană, Euro, după 2016. (Sursa)

The Brabus B63S 700 Widestar Dubai Police Edition features the livery of the Dubai Police, which you might have seen on a number of other exotic cars recently. The car will join Dubai’s exotic fleet once the Dubai Motor Show has finished and will patrol alongside an Aston Martin One-77 among others!
The Brabus B63S 700 Widestar gets the standard B63S 700 upgrades applied to its 5.5 litre V8 engine. Power is up to 700 hp at 5,300 rpm and an electronically limited 960 Nm of torque from as low as 2,000 rpm. The Dubai Police Edition retains the AMG Speedshift Plus 7G-Tronic which makes 100 km/h possible in just 4.9 seconds. Top speed is limited to 300 km/h in order to protect the tyres.

The Tale of the Troll Hvitserkur — A long time ago when settlers were coming to Iceland a troll called Hvítserkur lived in Mount Bæjarfell in Strandir on the Westfjords. He had a son called Bárdur. Hvítserkur had long lived there with his family and was happy. One day he woke up when he was sound asleep when he heard a strong and uncomfortable sound. The troll knew that this would be the result of men who now had moved to Iceland and no longer believed in Odin and Frey.
He hoped that the noise would stop, but his wish did not come true. On the contrary, the racket increased, especially around the middle of winter, the most enjoyable time of Giants. So Hvítserkur decided to put an end to this. He was sure that this was due to a bell, which was hanging up in a large house on the other side of Húnaflói. Hence, he decided to take the journey and take this object down or shatter it to pieces.
One evening when the day was getting shorter Hvítserkur decided to start his journey. He believed that he would have plenty of time for his trip before daybreak, for the light of day he could not stand any more than other trolls. The moon and stars were shining and thus the situation was ideal. As Hvítserkur was getting ready, his son Bárdur demanded to travel with him. He felt he had to look around in the world and felt that he might be of assistance to his father if the work was cumbersome. Hvítserkur believed that the fjords might be too deep for his son. However, the boy insisted upon going and finally his father reluctantly gave in. The quarrel had taken a good part of the night and they could start. As his father had suspected Bárdur had great difficulty wading over the deep waters and they were greatly delayed.
Day was near when the two approached Vatnsnes and Hvítserkur decided to go ahead and took large steps in the hope of breaking the clock before dawn.
But as he stepped over the mountain and into the sea he looked eastwards and saw the sun coming up and he immediately turned into stone. His son had just taken land on the other side of the mountain and he turned into stone on the beach. As Hvítserkur felt what was happening, he threw his hammer towards the church at Thingeyrar, hoping to break the clock. However, he failed and the hammer can be found on the eastern part of Thingeyrarsand.
